Tangee Carter

Advisor
Tangee Carter is the Campus Advisor for I.D.E.A.L. Women. She is a native of Terry, MS and a current resident of Hattiesburg, MS. She currently serves as the Assistant Director for Residence Education & Staff Recruitment for the Department of Housing & Residence Life at Southern Miss.
She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 2008, and a Master of Science Degree in Political Science 2010, both from The University of Southern Mississippi. Tangee is a proud and active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Tangee has a passion for developing young women and serving her local community. Along with being the Campus Advisor for I.D.E.A.L. Women, she is also the Advisor for the Hattiesburg Zeta Archonette Youth Auxiliary, and a girls’ basketball coach at Temple Baptist Church.

Hey yall! My name is Somai Fikes and I’m from Meridian, MS. I’m a Senior majoring in Hospitality & Tourism Management with a minor in Communication Studies. Some of my favorite hobbies include shopping, photography, and traveling! I have a heart for community service, and I get a chance to do what I love through the amazing Luckyday Scholarship Program, my exceptional sorority Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., and of course, with the wonderful ladies of I.D.E.A.L women.

Hi my name is Markelia Roberson. I am a Moss Point, Mississippi native, born & raised on the Gulf Coast. I obtained an Associates of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Jones County Junior College. Currently, I attend the University of Southern Mississippi where I study Broadcast Journalism and Spanish. My goals for Ideal this year is to bring our bond closer to Christ as we continue to build our bond together as an organization.

My name is Akiyla Thicklen. I am a Senior Psychology Major from Jackson, MS. I currently serve as the community service chair for I.D.E.A.L. I have a dedication for service and giving back to the local community of Hattiesburg and the Pine Belt Area. We believe that serving the community in a valuable way is vital to helping the citizens of our community. Community Service is one of I.D.E.A.L. purposes.

I was born in Kenner, Louisiana but relocated to Jackson, Mississippi, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I am currently obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Child and Family Sciences with an emphasis in Child Development. My mission for I.D.E.A.L this year is to lift as I climb as I perform the duties of a New Member Advisor by welcoming new member into the circle of service and sisterhood just as my sisters welcomed me!
